Emerging Concepts in Nuclear Structure Based on the Shell Model

چکیده
Some emerging concepts of nuclear structure are overviewed. (i) Background: the many-body quantum atomic nucleus, a complex system comprising protons and neutrons (called nucleons collectively), has been studied largely based on idea liquid (à la Landau), where quasiparticles moving in (mean) potential well, with weak “residual” interactions between nucleons. The is rigid general, although it can be anisotropic. While this view was good starting point, time to look into kaleidoscopic aspects brought by underlying dynamics forces. (ii) Methods: exotic features as well classical issues investigated from fresh viewpoints shell model nucleon–nucleon interactions. 70-year progress shell–model approach, including effective interactions, enables us do this. (iii) Results: we go beyond picture solid activating monopole This produces notable consequences key such shell/magic structure, shape deformation, dripline, etc. These understood evolution (including type-II), T-plot, self-organization (for collective bands), triaxial-shape dominance, new dripline mechanism, resulting predictions analyses agree experiment. (iv) Conclusion: nuclei surprisingly richer objects than initially thought.

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model
over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

متن کاملThe shell model as a unified view of nuclear structure
The last decade has witnessed both quantitative and qualitative progress in shell-model studies, which have resulted in remarkable gains in our understanding of the structure of the nucleus. Indeed, it is now possible to diagonalize matrices in determinantal spaces of dimensionality up to 109 using the Lanczos tridiagonal construction, whose formal and numerical aspects are analyzed in this rev...

Developing a comprehensive description of nuclei and their reactions represents one of the great intellectual oppor...
